I assume that iD2 must be on the verge of release. But t would be great if it could counter-attack 1.1.2(launching this Friday) and iTunes 7.5(already up and running on apple.com).

Having said that, there are still users running previous firmwares like 1.0.2 and 1.0.1 that are unlocked by simfree. Will iD2 take care of them and help them virginize,upgrade and jailbreak?

I have only one questions that is on everyone's mind. Will iDemocracy 2 unlock the UK iPhone with Firmware 1.1.2, Baseband 4.02.13_G, and bootloader BOOT04.06_M3S2?. If it simply jailbreaks and activates, that can be done right now with a simple process. The question is how to unlock the new UK iPhones with bootloader BOOT04.06_M3S2?.

These are how all the new iPhones are coming out, with the bootloader BOOT04.06_M3S2?. The theory is that this new bootloader does not allow you to flash the baseband back to a previous one, which then prevents the official unlock. I have tried and done everything perfectly. When I try to flash the baseband, it claims to have been successful, but remains with the baseband of 4.02.13_G and bootloader BOOT04.06_M3S2?.

Does iDemocracy 2 unlock the above-described iPhone? If not, I think we should postpone the release.

I agree with John above. Ok, so postponing the release my be a bit harsh on iD since he's put a lot of work in to this new release but the question on every UKO2 phone owner's mind right now is will iD2 find a way round bootloader 4.06? It's the bane of our lives at the moment.

I've pummelled my fone to bits with every command possibe to try and break the baseeband hoping a restore will put an older version in but nothing seems to have worked.. the only thing i've succeeded in doing so far is eliminating the baseband reading from the options screen?! its disappeared completely!

Doing a restore right now and waiting to see what happens.

I have exactly the same fear/question as the John and David.

We want to UNLOCK & jailbreak (use with any SIM) the new (untouched) iPhone 1.1.2 which come with this new bootloader 4.06. Those are all new UK, US and German iPhones that are sold.

If it is true, that the new iDemocracy can do THIS - you are the man and I will donate 100 dollar immediatelly on friday!

Guys, here are the facts, iDemocracy WILL NOT unlock your UK iPhone and WILL NOT unlock any iPhone with the new bootloader.

As for all of you who keep trying to dwngrade your baseband, What the hell are you doing?? Do any of you think logically?? You cannot downgrade the baseband because of the new bootloader, so if you did Magically get it done by corrupting it or whatever, and then you do Magically get an older version flashed on, what then?? How will you unlock it when NONE of the bloody unlocking solutions, anySIM and simFREE included, dont work with the new bloody bootloader!!! Jesus!!!

iDemocracy will do the following:

People who have updated to 1.1.2 will be able to Unlock as they have the 3.9 bootloader

People who have the new bootloader, will be able to jailbreak and activate and get ready for a Unlock when it comes

And I'm not going to postpone the release due to the 4.06 bootloader thing, but I will release iDemocracy 2.1 the moment an unlocking fix is available. (I would hold off until the new anySIM releases, but it wouldn't be fair to deprive all the old users of the new features :D).

iDemocracy is absolutely right, it would not be fair to deprive old users of the new features, but it is also important to state very clearly that if a person were to buy an iPhone right now, iDemocracy 2.0 cannot unlock it. I think it is imperative for us to begin working immediately on this. And if this is Apple's largest flex of its muscle, we need to bring our minds together.

I was a bit Elementary with the wording of my last post, but I have been working on this since I discovered it. If you need files from the new iPhone with Boot4.06 MS32, let me know and I will send them to you. Let's work on it together. I do not and will not ask for any credit. I just want the job done and am willing to dedicate all my time to it.

So, the last question I have to put everyone on their toes and gain you, literally, international attention is... when can we expect the release of iDemocracy 2.1? Days, weeks, months. You're absolutely right. If we're going to combat Apple's new protection schemes we all must work together. That said, I feel we have quite a challenge in front of us.

If you want a rough estimate of a release date for iD2.1, I'd have to say maybe within in 3-4 weeks. This is based on the work of the Elite Team (of course, the Dev team might step in). This is a very rough idea and it's very likely that there will be a sooner release, and there's always a chance it could take months.

I can all but promise a 4.06 unlock in iD2.1, as long as it's humanly possible :)

I hope you can all continue to follow the project and assist me by sending me any information you have at all, or any ideas you have on unlocking bootloader 4.06. I will do my part and keep an eye on the Elite Team, Dev Team, and various efforts out there being made to crack this thing!

@platipt: Don't worry about it. I have to update all those messages after the launch :) iD2 has built-in virginizing which will re-lock your iPhone so you can update it and all that.

@nugtz.n1gz: It doesn't update by itself. There's quite a bit of manual labor involved... However, the whole process takes under 30 minutes if you don't have complications, and iD2 walks you through all of it.

@el.siciliano: Check iphone-elite.googlecode.com, they have instructions. I believe "bbupdater -v" shows this as well (maybe not).

@m.tabata: Kind of. iD2 needs you to be running 1.1.1 when you start, so you'll have to downgrade quickly (it gives instructions for this) and then use iD2 and follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

@feynman82: I hope you don't plan on unlocking that. If you do, there's some disappointment in store for you :)

@greg.hambleton: All UK iPhones, or iPhones running firmware 1.1.2, have baseband 4.02.13_G. iDemocracy 2 should be fine for you for jailbreaking and activating. However, you will not be able to unlock your iPhone unless the bootloader version is not 4.6

@pippogio0: You want to downgrade the baseband first. iD2 will have a button to do that. It's a simple process... After that, you would virginize it, then update and do all that stuff.

If you plan to use the short, Wi-Fi-Less method, then yes, you should start with a fresh 1.1.1 iPhone.

the symlink is not working for me it gives me an error message to reinstall program and make sure iphone is connected.. Iphone is connected and itunes is on.. anybody else have this?

well Looks like mine just locked up on "Copying Firmware... Please Wait" on Anysim... shit.

This worked great for me.. I downgraded to 1.1.1, ran the 1.0.2 to kick it in the butt, went to jailbreakme.com and loaded the 1.1.2 prep object.. Had one problem... Had to update Java in order for Jailbreak 1.1.2 to work, but once it did, it worked great! Thanks this was awesome!!!

well, my anysim locked up on Copying Firmware and then restarted, the apple show up and it start loading something again... Hell I don't know what's happening with this anysim 1.2, its just restarting over and over again the phone...

@ nugtz.n1gz... I have version 1.0.2. I think we suppose to virginize our phone before u update to the 1.1.1 because if u update an unlocked phone through itunes, it will brick your phone!

@nugtz.n1gz.. I got my phone off ebay, thats why they say never update because it will brick your phone, so u have to virginize it meaning u making it back to factory 1.0.2 then u go to itunes to update it. its a way to unbrick it, try www.modmyifone.com, its lots of stuff on that there.

Did you install SSH when you did the Dev Team jailbreak? (Did you check the box?). If you didn't you'll have to install SSH later. Oh well :) The Dev Team jailbreak should have activated anyway. Are you sure you finished the whole process yet? Can you give me some background information? Did you oktoprep successfully on 1.1.1 and all that?

Anysim 1.2 froze while copying firmware >=| I left it running and then it just flashed and went to the apple logo. Now its just sitting here and thinking with the little circle thing on the apple logo instead of on the bottom like it used to be. I've tried this twice now and the same thing has happened. There is a problem with Anysim 1.2

I think there is a bigger issue with the symlink than just OpenSSH isn't installed or Wrong IP... Ive seen a lot more people having the same message of

"An unknown error occured in applying the Symlink, possibly related to permissions or missing files. Reinstall this app, make sure your iPhone is plugged in, and try again."

I checked over the options that you said and they were definitely all right.. Can you please maybe look into this issue because I am stuck and do not know what to do

So has anyone actually unlocked a new iphone with 1.1.2 and 4.02.13_G baseband?

What jailbreak process did you use? Short, Long or Dev Team and were you able to completely sim-unlock it.

I've probably reflashed the firmware on this baby 20 times or more. Maybe it's time to go back to Windows Mobile :(

Yes everything works.. just have alot of restore and downgrading. I started fresh 1.0.2 no unlocking. from 1.0.2 restore to 1.1.1 upgraded to 1.1.2 downgrade back to 1.1.1 to 1.0.2 then jailbreak + activate + unlock using anysim 1.2.1u all successful so restore back to 1.1.1 jailbreak + activated.. phone have no signal but that's part of the process.. installed bsd subsystem + community source + openssh.. connect to winSCP everything is great.. so installed oktoprep then UPGRADED back to 1.1.2 used 1.1.2 jailbreak + Activated and got my unlock 1.1.2 iphone :)

Try to start fresh on 1.0.2 use iD2 downgrading BB if you have 4.01 or 4.02. then revirginize it. restore back to 1.1.1 then upgrade to 1.1.2 THEN downgrade again to 1.1.1 to 1.0.2..

Don't need to have at&t sim card.. I mostly used my tmobile sim card the entire time.. and not even once i got error..

The virginize tool is to return the phone back to it's original state if you f*cked up? if you have 1.1.2 otb will it return to this firmware or go to 1.0.2?

Hey there, I bought an unlocked 1.1.1 phone a month ago, it was workin' fine with me but I wanted to updated to 1.1.2, so I installed oktoprep 1.1.1 and then updated and jailbroke it using jailbreakme. However, the phone became locked. so I wanted to unlock it again by using iD 2.0 so I did all stuff and it didn't work first I got error 1015 not 1013 and second everytime i use Apptapp it says that "sending to iphone failed" and whenever I try to activate it I can't connect to the phone via SSH Putty says " network error; connection failed". my computer in the same network with the iphone so would u please tell me what to do I tried everything i know

It depends on what you define "unlock" to mean, if you mean bypassing the activation so you can basicly use your Iphone as a Ipod Touch than you are correct.

However the Sim-unlocking of the phone has to wait until a new version of AnySim? comes out which is able to read the 4.06 bootloader (expectations are that this will take 3-4 weeks).

I think the wait for the new AnySim? will be worth it, but that's a matter of opinion I guess.

There are today, 2 types of iPhones out there. 1) Those that originally shipped without 1.1.2+04.02.13_G and 2) Those that shipped WITH 1.1.2+04.02.13_G

My question (which I think has been asked 23 different ways and not clearly answered) is, will iDemocracy2 Jailbreak and activate those in 2 above. Yes or No?

I understand there is no unlocking for 2. I just want to jailbreak and activate.

Help for short no-wifi method

I dwnloaded everything I need (after 16 hrs :))and a virgin 1.1.1. in hand. ID2 required the phone to be jailbroken or activated 1st? If I have read the instructions correctly, it seems to be be referring to both. I did the emergency call procedure but I can't configure edge/gprs (no network/edge menu) to download the TIFF exploit and wifi is still needed. Any workaround for this as there are no hotspots in my area and I am writing this on a 56k dialup!

Hello, I understand that ID-2.0.1 only jailbreak and activate my OOB 1.1.2 iPhone and will not unlock it for use in all networks, but my question is: If i'll do the activation+jailbreak now will i be able to do only the unlocking with the new ID version once it will be availible? Or should i not mess with it and wait to the upcoming version?

OK, ive decided to go trough the LONG method, and everything went great until i was needed to update to 1.1.1. i've clicked shift+update and then selected the 1.1.1 image. but at the end of the update, to my big surprise, i found out that from some reason itunes updated me back to 1.1.2 and i got locked again. whats going on over here ??

Is it possible that itunes IGNORES the 1.1.1 ersion i'm selecting by shift-clicking the "update" button, and actually updates me to 1.1.2 ??

has anyone sucessfully virginized 1.0.2 and upgraded to 1.1.1 .. i would be interested in find some kind of guide to do so.

Yay - just an update - today I successfully (1st time) jailbroke and activated my UK OOTB 1.1.2 iPhone - I am already on O2 so I dont really need to unlock it as my O2 Genie pay as you go sim works fine :)

Ok from now on if anyone is successful, please mention what iD2 method you used. Long, Short or Dev. Also mention any other peculiar methods you used to solve any problems you ran into.

Right I did a lot of reading for my OTB 1.1.2 UK iPhone. Chose iDemocracy. The apptapp hangs (the second time round, once iphone is back into normal mode) on stage 2:4 ... boot the iphone back into recovery mode... after copying new boot files. Now my iphone is stuck at the recovery mode. I am going to restore it back to 1.1.2 and wait for an updated solution..

I have already activated to O2 contract for 18 months, I just want the jailbreak for applications. Any easy/confirmed ways of doing this?

r...@hotmail.co.uk, I use my OTB 1.1.2 UK iPhone with my existing O2 SIM. The phone does not pick signals when it runs under 1.1.1. It has to be 1.0.2. or 1.1.2. So a) restore to 1.1.2., b) downgrade to 1.1.1. (Try iBricker to recover from the recovery mode), c) do the short method, and d) do 1.1.2 jailbreak. Skip any SIM unlock processes. Perhaps you can use AppSnapp? instead of the short method. Good luck!

The more you ask these guys questions, the less time they have to actually crack it because they have to respond to you. Just chill out and wait for it. I estimate 2-3 weeks. Why has your solution not been posted and offered through Hackint0sh.org or any of the other forums? John Castro seems to have disappeared so I guess there's still no good unlock. It seems his way was not a software unlock in any case, but something similar to TurboSIM, so it seems we're not getting anywhere.

After i use the short method my phone capacity become 61MB not even in GB it is on MB, i have to restore it again, the short method is longer than the jailbreakme.com and it doesn't even do what it has to do. i will try the long method now if it is the same well that will be good by to iD2 , my only problem for not usind the jailbreakme.com solution is that i am using an ad hoc wifi trough my laptop and it seems it will not work with it, and for sr3333 if your firware is 04.02.13_g that means you have a 1.1.2 and if it is OTB (out of the box) then you can only downgrade and jailbreak only, no unlock solution yet

We only had a few order problems this Holiday Season, but everyone has to understand that since I announced the GodSIM at $29.95, I had to change my personal phone number because the calls were WAY TOO MUCH. We are quite literally not taking orders anymore because we are back-ordered for almost two months. Well, I sold all 25 GodSIM cards in about 3 days. Only problem is that Mr. Castro is an ahole. Apparently TurboSIM card users found their iPhones ruined when they updated to Version 1.1.3 and Mr. Castro is hawking-in on the chaos by upping his price is $49.95. True American a-hole.

I have something to add as well. I ordered 10 GodSIM cards and just re-ordered another 20. The price for me was $39.95, so I don't know about the $49.95 mentioned in the previous post. But they're really good. They didn't get stuck in my iPhone like the TurboSIM and HyperSIM crap did.
