The ImagesByName People Project, hosted by theHTPC.net, is under development to help provide a high-quality source of cast and crew member images for various HTPC software front-end products. Currently, theHTPC.net cast and crew members are a showcased plugin in the popular metadata application, meta<browser>.

The ImagesByName term, itself, comes from the popular Windows Media Center plugin - Media Browser.

The application allows for volunteers to access a central repository of images that require replacement to meet minimum quality standards as defined by the project. The volunteers can then search for and, if necessary, edit an image for submission and subsequent addition to the main IBN People Project library.

Features include:

• Automatic image searching using Google Bing and Yahoo! search engines.
• Integrated image requirements. Only specific dimensions will be accepted by the application for submission.
• Item flagging to allow for suspect images (ex. misspellings) to be reviewed for removal from the project.
• EZ Add allows you to immediately accept an existing image if it is a required resolution. No work to do!
• Local image submission or drag-and-drop directly from the integrated browser.
• No more bulky image packages. Work at your own pace...the application can keep up with you!
