Internationalization (i18n) and Localization (L10n)
Phase-Design

Introduction

One of the goals of the Humm and Strumm Project is to reach the widest audience possible. This is evident in our technical decisions for the engine, from support for older platforms to the use of as many standard, cross-platform functions, libraries, and constructs. In order to fully accomplish this, however, we also need to recognize that our users may speak different languages, write their dates differently, or maybe just spell "recognize" differently. The Humm and Strumm Engine is designed to ease the porting to different locals just as it eases the porting to different systems.
