1) Can I use the plug-in with a Hudson server that requires authentication?

Yes. The plug-in now supports basic authentication.

2) The plug-in is installed, but no Jobs are ever displayed.

Servers with too many jobs can cause the plug-in to not display. Try creating a view with a few jobs and point the plug-in at that.
