XP Pro SP2, FF 3.3.5 Please provide any additional information below. When originally installed it worked perfected. After trying it with IE Tab the toggle remained blank. Uninstalling/installing, restarting, disabling other/all other plugins has no effect.

Just wish I could see the bytes of the content as hex values. Would really be helpful. I will do the "update / coding" if someone points me in the direction vis-a-vis dev tools required. Cheers.

issue 66 (Hex dump in POST Data) reported by m...@waggoner.com   -   This is an enhancement request, not a bug report. The request is to add an option to the radio buttons on the bottom of the "POST Data" tab. In addition to "Pretty" and "Raw" it'd be wonderful to have a "Hex dump" option that shows the posted data in dual-column hex/plaintext format, a la the standard command-line utility "hexdump -C". Right now, I'm looking at a post data view, but most of it is binary data and it's just a bunch of question marks in diamonds (the usual UTF-8 "I don't know what this is" glyph). Being able to see the raw binary data would be fantastic for web development. Thanks!

issue 64 (Interface with XML-RPC comms improvement) reported by si...@sibaz.com   -   We use XML-RPC a lot, on our site, so routinely use HTTP Fox to log the communication between flash games and/or the site AJAX and the back end server. HTTP Fox currently allows us to see the XML-RPC server .php page in the grid, but to see the XML-RPC Method or response, we have to look in the lower box, which means we can't copy and paste the conversation, into a file somewhere, to analyse problems, we have to do it inside httpfox (when it has cached the returned part of the conversation). It would be really useful if some part of the XML-RPC request and response could be seen as part of the grid. The Method-Call-Name would be obvious, the response would have to be configurable. Many Thanks,

issue 63 (Cannot add security exception for invalid server certificate) reported by dyoshinaga   -   Context: I ran into this when testing an internal test server that was using a certificate for a different hostname. The certificate was self-signed. So this is really a corner case. Also, I can work around it by just stopping HttpFox (i.e., without restarting the browser). What steps will reproduce the problem? Setup: * Firefox 3.0.10 (happens on Linux and Windows XP, possibly other platforms) * HttpFox version 0.8.4 is installed * HttpFox is either started or the option "Automatically start watching when browser starts" is checked. * In about:config, these settings are left at their default values: * browser.xul.error_pages.enabled (true) * browser.xul.error_pages.expert_bad_cert (false) 1. Go to the server, and get the standard "Secure Connection Failed" error message (Error code: sec_error_untrusted_issuer). There should be an "Or you can add an exception link" at the end of the message. 2. Click the "Or you can add an exception" link. This displays the buttons "Get me out of here!" and "Add Exception". 3. Click the "Add Exception" button. This opens a new "Add Security Exception" dialog box. 4. In the dialog box, click the "Get Certificate" button to get the certificate for the server, so that you can add an exception. Here is what happens: i) In the dialog box, the Certificate Status section displays: ============== Certificate Status ========================== Checking Information Attempting to identify the site. ============================================================= ii) An alert box opens. The alert box displays the message (in plain text): ================= Alert ======================= [the test server name is here] uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it is self signed. The certificate is only valid for <a id="cert_domain_link" title="[the test server name is here]">(null)</a> (Error code: sec_error_untrusted_issuer) OK =============================================== iii) When you click OK to dismiss the alert box (which has no other buttons), back in the "Add Security Exception" dialog box, the Certificate Status section changes to display: ============== Certificate Status ========================== No Information Available Unable to obtain identification status for the given site. ============================================================= iv) The "Confirm Security Exception" button is disabled. The only thing that you can do from here is click the "Cancel" button to close the "Add Security Exception" dialog box. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? If HttpFox is stopped, at step (4), item (ii) above, no alert box appears. Instead, the "Certificate Status" section displays the messages: ============== Certificate Status ========================== This site attempts to identify itself with invalid information. [View button] Wrong Site Certificate belongs to a different site, which could indicate an identity theft. Unknown Identity Certificate is not trusted, because it hasn't been verified by a recognized authority. ============================================================= The "Confirm Security Exception" button is enabled. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 0.8.4 on Linux and Windows XP Please provide any additional information below. It looks like there was another defect about HttpFox dropping SSL connections to servers with invalid certificates ( Issue 51 ), but it looks like that was fixed. I'm not sure if this is related. I can work around this problem by stopping HttpFox to accept the certificate for the test server and then starting HttpFox again (no need to restart the browser), so it's not really a problem. But it was pretty confusing (and I couldn't figure out what was causing it), so I thought I should note it down somewhere. Hope this is OK. Sorry this is kind of long.

issue 62 (Enhancement Request -- Raw HTTP Streams) reported by champion.p   -   HttpWatch is able to display the raw HTTP stream of an entire transaction. I'm currently working with chunked encoding-type responses, and I'd like to be able to see the raw response (chunks and all). Currently, the "Raw" option in the Content tab is simply not "raw" enough.

issue 38 (autostart when httpfox window is opened) commented on by trev....@adblockplus.org   -   Actually, an option is unnecessary. When somebody opens the HttpFox window he certainly doesn't want to study the controls or to stare at the blank list. So the first time it is opened it should start logging immediately. When closed and re-opened it should keep its state as it does already.

I am looking for open source tool which can record the http(s) session and replay it as many times as we want.It will help benchmark the web application and going further we can have automated performance testing process where we will replay the recorded traffic and we can check if any new development has really pull down the performance of the web app by comparing the bench marked numbers against the test numbers.

issue 13 (Advanced filter) commented on by jeremiah.dodds   -   I'd really like to see something akin to Wiresharks filtering. That is, being able to do filter by things like "method=POST url~="http://somesite.com result!=(200|cache)", etc. Basically $COLUMNAME=$REGEX, with some niceties like preserving the order of results. I'm willing to help with implementation as well, although I'm sure it will take me some time to get familiar with what's there now. I'll be checking out the existing codebase in my free time, and hopefully will be able to dedicate some time to working on HTTPFox - I use it all the time, and would love to be able to improve it.
