The purpose of HDD Guardian is to provide a graphical interface to smartctl, part of the S.M.A.R.T. Monitoring Tools, in order to make this nice utility accessible to all Windows users.
| HDD Guardian requires .NET Framework 4.0 and is actually tested on Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7. HDD Guardian alert in case of imminent failure, temperature threshold or vital parameter change. Do not use HDD Guardian with Samsung HD155UI and HD204UI unless you install this patch. See this page for details.
OCZ Agility 3 need a firmware update: prior to version 2.15 shows a wrong temperature of 128°C. This temperature is not real because the unit is not equipped with thermal sensor, and is a fixed value placed by the manufacturer. Firmware update is available here. |
