The Hackystat SensorDataViewer provides near-real time display of sensor data arriving at a SensorBase service. This figure illustrates the viewer, which polls the server (typically every 10 seconds) for new data and updates the window appropriately.
This service is designed to support the following:
- Verification of correct sensor installation and configuration. This service, by providing near-real time display of the arrival of Sensor Data, makes it simple for a user to verify whether data from a recently installed and/or configured sensor is arriving at a SensorBase.
- Monitoring Sensor behavior. In some cases, it can be unintuitive what kinds of data are collected and sent by a sensor. The SensorDataViewer allows the user to "drill down" and display all of the data associated with a specific sensor data instance.
- Monitoring SensorBase availability. Because the SensorDataViewer polls a SensorBase regularly, this service can enable administrators to easily check that a SensorBase is working.
Documentation for this service includes:
| User Guide | Documents how to bring up a SensorDataViewer and what the interface means. |
| Developer Guide | Documents how developers can install and build this system from sources. |
| Release Notes | Provides summary of features added in each milestone release. |
