For example, in order to understand a Hackystat analysis technique such as Software Project Telemetry, it helps to see telemetry generated from sensor data that illustrates various canonical kinds of software project trends. Such simulations form "scenarios" of use.

The SimData package provides the SimData class, which implements a number of methods that simplify the creation of simulated data scenarios.
