Gmail Apps Button

Project goal

This project should be a 1:1 copy of the Gmail button for Google Apps domains. It should not conflict with the existing Gmail button. The icon will be differentiated by a blue Gmail logo, similar to that used for the Google Apps mobile applet. The domain name is set using the button configuration options. The source is based on the original Gmail button.

The XML is being submitted to the Google Toolbar Button Gallery, but will also be available in the Downloads section of this project or from SVN. See http://www.google.com/tools/toolbar/buttons/apis/howto_guide.html#installing for information about manual installation of Google Toolbar Buttons.

Most users should simply use this link: Install Gmail Apps Button

Additional information

For those interested in Gmail Apps functionality, you may also be interested in the following Firefox configuration settings (edit in about:config):

gecko.handlerService.schemes.mailto.1.uriTemplate = https://mail.google.com/a/example.com/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s

google.toolbar.mailthis_login_url = https://mail.google.com/a/example.com/?tb=4

google.toolbar.mailthis_url = https://mail.google.com/a/example.com/?view=mm&at=

google.toolbar.mailto.providers.Gmail = firetool-mail:https://mail.google.com/a/example.com/?view=cm&fs=1@to=to&subject=su&body=body&cc=cc&bcc=bcc&name=Gmail

Note that these are based on my own experimentation and seem to work well for me. The "mailthis" settings change the destination of the "Send to" button, which is not part of this project, but should be useful to the same users.
