Custom '9X Logic Board PCB Schematics

The custom circuitry for Gruvin's '9X has gone through a number of versions, and continues to evolve.

Current Design

Ongoing schematic and PCB design currently takes place at http://gruvin9x.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/hrdware/pcb/. There you'll find a KiCAD project file named gruvin9x.pro, with internal references to gruvin9x.sch and gruvin9x.pcb.

As at 22 September 2011, we've progressed to v4.0 and are working hard to release a board for general consumption. It is our firm intention to finally do just that with v4.1, hopefully before December, 2011. Version 4.0, final prototypes have been assembled (x4) and are being tested and debugged. A number of beta testers are being lined up for the first few v4.1 production boards. Simply put, we're going as fast as we can.

You can find detailed information about the new board's intentions, current functionality and progress on the Custom PCB wiki page.

Check out the source tree in the /trunk/hardware/pcb folder for the latest work-in-progress design files.

Historical Data

First Prototype

The first physical prototype, 'rev 2.14' PCB design, schematic and production files, as sent to the PCB fabrication factory in December of 2010, can be found at http://gruvin9x.googlecode.com/svn/archive/pcb/pcb-v2.14-frozen. There's a PDF version of the schematic, here.

Original 'Hacked' Radio

Gruvin's original '9X radio was the original test bed for much of pre-v3-PCB work. As such, it remains a reference for people wishing to manually modify factory stock '9X radios for use with Fr-Sky telemetry. There's an historical PDF version of the schematic for this 'hacked' board, here.

If you have a stock '9X radio and would just like to add basic Fr-Sky telemetry functionality to it, then there are (hopefully) easy to follow instructions on the Fr-Sky Interfacing wiki page.
