This is a web application that serves as a meter for energy consumption and carbon intensity for the Island of Oahu. This is a simulated application. All the data generated are based on test cases. The data is not genuine data from the HECO power grid.

This project aims to create a application that can effectively gauge how much power is generated and at what times the carbon emissions from the more inefficient plants are being used. Carbon emissions from these plants would be higher and therefore have more environmental impact. Another goal is to be able to find times at which we can inform others about that are low in emissions. These are the times at which those mindful of carbon emissions can choose to use their electrical devices.

As a result of this altered behavior in consuming power, we hope consumers can lower carbon emissions because they are informed about the consequences.
