There is also gpsdings at http://gpstools.sf.net A GPLv3 Java command line tool for geo-referencing of digital photographs, GPX to Google Earth and Google Maps conversion, and general gpx track analysis.
A couple more: 1. DGManager. Excellent! Geocoding, Google Maps Integrated, Smart Track Generation (groups track points based on time differences between points), kml output. http://sourceforge.net/projects/dgmanager-net/
2. GPS to kml, creates customized kmz from NMEA logs or GPX, includes pictures, does not geocode the images. http://www.claudegps.altervista.org/index_e.htm
See also JPhotoGeoTagger (http://wiki.hsr.ch/Prog1Java/wiki.cgi?JPhotoGeoTagger) (Java, Open Source GPL)
Oops, forgot to set the comments notification (it's Ok now).
Thanks all for the links I've added them to the list.
GeoSetter? for Windows (http://www.geosetter.de/en/index.html) - freeware, automatic or manual geocoding using embedded Google Maps map and NMEA or GPX track files
Thanks polnjumen, I didn't know about GeoSetter? which looks great (also it seems EXIFTool can be used in a closed source software?).
The link for NDWGeoTag is now http://walks.ndrw.co.uk/help/index.php?help=ndwgeotag
I closed the other site down
