Why/how does it use Django?

All paper information (outside the actual PDF files) is stored in an SQLite3 database We use Django's ORM framework to abstract the schema into python objects.

Note that this also provides you with a free web-based interface to you paper collection if you choose to set up mod_python on an Apache server somewhere.

Is it able to import a Mekentosj Papers library, complete with PDF links? If not, would you consider implementing it?

Is it really necessary, that gPapers copies all PDF into the .gpapers directory?
