Please describe the Java SDK- or runtime-related bug you're experiencing:

I'm using Objectify to create persistent entities in my webapp. I use also the Blobstore to create blob sub-entities larger than 1MB.
From the Blobstore, for a blob, I get a BlobKey to store in a datastore entity. As suggested, I use https://code.google.com/appengine/docs/java/blobstore/overview.html#Writing_Files_to_the_Blobstore to write and read blobs. It works fine. I can save Blobstore objects and retrieve them, using Blobkeys. But when I restart the GAE server (no schema change in my code), the blobs go away. They are not persistent. I get NotFoundException when trying to retrieve a blob object using FileReadChannel. This I experience on my development server.

The strange thing is that after I restart it the development-server, I can still see the __BlobInfo__ object in the admin dev console. Its {Key, ID/Name, creation_handle} remain the same, yet opening it using FileService.openReadChannel() gets a NotFoundException!

This is marked for 1.6.2. Is it possible to get the patch before then? If not, what's the expectation for a 1.6.2 release?

It's not a simple fix so likelihood of a patch is small.

Can't comment specifically but 1.6.2 should be available by mid Q1 2012.
