Relevant text:

"GWT ships with a command line utility called applicationCreator that automatically generates all the
files you'll need in order to start a GWT project. It can also generate Eclipse project files and launch
config files for easy hosted mode debugging, as described below."

Basically, I got confused about how projectCreator and applicationCreator were related to one
another. The text implies that applicationCreator generates an Eclipse project file, but that's what
projectCreator does. Would be less confusing if the text was organized so that it was obvious that
you should immediately follow the alternate path if you're interested in creating an Eclipse project.
Also, try to lessen confusion about applicationCreator creating project files.

I agree, this confused me.

applicationCreator actually creates the Eclipse .launch file. (Why that is not also
rolled into projectCreator is, granted, an excellent question.)

IMO we should eventually drop those 2 scripts in favor of "official" IDE plugins and
an Ant file generator. But that's just me. :)

At a minimum, can we change the getting started guide to make this more clear?

I just spent ~10 minutes searching the web for the answer (use the ProjectCreator).
Something about the ordering of the guide just throws people off track...

This is likely a stale issue report. We have a new set of documentation created for
1.5 which should address this issue:

Looks stale and / or fixed to me (referring to the new Getting Started
documentation).
