Google Translate Application

Introduction

The Google Translate Application, originally developed for The Sikher Project (http://www.sikher.com), is a Java application that can translate large amounts of text rapidly through the Google Translate API. Most language pairs are supported, and as Google Translate begins to support more language pairs, they can easily be added via XML to this application.

  • Full source released under the GNU General Public License v3
  • Cross-platform application supporting Unicode
  • Can translate 1000 lines per minute via the Google Translate API
  • Input and output language selection between English, Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Filipino, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese
  • Ability to import from and export to a text file, with no file size limit
  • Languages controlled via a simple XML file, in case of new languages being released by Google
