Check for new itemsThis menu option lets you select how often the notifier will check for new updates. If you have a smaller number of subscriptions, it may be useful to check more often. For a very large number of subscriptions, you will be notified constantly on new updates. It may be helpful to use the label filter in this case. You can manually trigger checking for new items by right-clicking on the icon and choosing Check Now: Only display items with labelversion 1.0.8 and earlier: This textbox allows you to put a space delimited list of labels (folders, tags) that the notifier will filter by. If you have items in a folder called “favorites”, then putting favorites in this text box will make the notifier only alert you when there are updates to subscriptions in that folder. You could also put multiple folders by putting a space between them. version 1.1.1 and later: the textbox was replaced by an automatically generated list of lables. just choose the labels you want from the list, and it will only show items with that label. Show count in TooltipWhen you hold your mouse over the tray icon, the unread count is normally displayed. If you wanted to turn this off, you can uncheck the checkbox. This is turned on by default. Animate popupWhen notifier detects new unread items, a popup animation similar to the Google Talk new mail notification is shown. You can uncheck this box if you want to disable that popup. Start notifier when windows startsThe application is set by default to run at startup. If you wanted to turn this off, you can uncheck the checkbox. App works well (Vista SP/1 32 bit), and thanks.
What I'd like to see in an update is better visual notification. First priority: bigger, much longer lasting notification popup. Ideally, a user adjustable field for how many milliseconds the popup stays visible. Secondary priority: have some 'sticky' way to reposition that popup. Bottom-right corner isn't always best. Third priority: user alterable color/s of the popup.
Another graphical issue - the two tray icon colors (light blue vs. grey) are much too similar. From two feet away I cannot distinguish. Merely changing that blue one to a brighter, more saturated blue would be a big improvement. Or something.
Anyway, don't take this as ultranegative feedback. The software is nice.
PS. I really do NOT want to acquire Snarl (bloated).
I'll consider your suggestions. thanks for the feedback.
BTW, it might be better to post an issue on the issues tab, rather than a comment on the wiki. not that I mind, though.
It doesn't work if you are under proxy... will it be solve??
Thanks!!
My unread icon displays frequently even though there are zero unread items. If I uninstall and reinstall it works again but after several days it constantly displays unread items when there aren't any...even after specified time. Thanks.
