External references, such as a standards document, or specification? N/A Java environments (e.g. Java 6, Android 2.3, App Engine, or All)? All Please describe the feature requested. Just an idea: suppose we get an IOException when trying to execute an HTTP request, e.g. if there is a flakey connection. Perhaps we should give an option to retry the request, possibly with exponential backoff? It should probably be disabled by default.
