MonoDevelop is an IDE for writing desktop applications for GNOME. We are
looking for localizing MonoDevelop on a number of languages, starting with
the latest version.

MonoDevelop uses the standard GetText framework for translating applications.

This task is to translate MonoDevelop to Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia).

Deliverables: a fully translated po file based on the latest SVN code, or
r90630. The untranslated POT file is available at issue 8 along with some
basic advice.

Timescale: 5 days

Firstly, good work overall. It's pretty thorough for a first attempt.

Although I wasn't able to find an Indonesian speaker to review it, I had a look
through and found a few points:

* Assuming "destkop" is indonesian for "desktop" and not a typo, you shouldn't
translate ".desktop" in the case where it's referring to a standard file
extension.

* You're missing translations in a couple of places, e.g.
"Could not resolve target directory ID \"{0}\""
and
"Specified makefile is invalid: {0}"
and
"Generating Makefiles is not supported for single projects. Do you want to "
"generate them for the full solution - '{0}' ?"

* There are a lot of places where small translated strings are the same as the
original string, such as "Makefiles Output". Is this because no direct
translation
exists?

If you need help understanding the context of some on the English strings, try
asking
on IRC -- #mono-ghop or #monodevelop on GIMPNet. Alternatively, post comments
here.

When I ran the file through /usr/bin/msgfmt, it reported about 6 formatting
errors
(mainly missing " characters). Also, intltool-updated reported 2 fuzzy
translations
and 11 untranslated messages.

May I have all the mistake that you got or the report? It's hard to fix it.

Here's the fixed version.

If you use poedit (a nice GUI tool) it can check and compile the file into a .mo
file. If you copy the mo file (not the po file) to
/usr/share/locale/id/LC_MESSAGES/monodevelop.mo, then the translations will
show up
in Monodevelop. (The MD version that really needs testing is 0.18, but 0.17 will
probably be similar enough to work).

Here are the errors:

id.po:6906: keyword "Simpan" unknown
id.po:6906:16: parse error
id.po:7350: end-of-line within string
id.po:10269: keyword "string" unknown
id.po:10269:7: parse error
id.po:10270: end-of-line within string
id.po:10295: keyword "the" unknown
id.po:10295:4: parse error
id.po:10296: end-of-line within string
id.po:12052: end-of-line within string
id.po:12092: keyword "Konfersi" unknown
id.po:12092:27: parse error
id.po:12093: end-of-line within string
id.po:12116: end-of-line within string
id.po:12127: end-of-line within string

and

id.po:183: `msgid' and `msgstr' entries do not both end with '\n'

I'd fixed these in the bzipped version that I uploaded...

Also, it still shows "3 fuzzy translations, 11 untranslated messages".

I'm pretty sure this translation's not perfect (untranslated strings that I'm
sure
must be translatable), but
(a) I'm impressed at them amount of translations you did do.
(b) I don't speak Indonesian so can't so a proper review.
Therefore I'm going to accept this.

Well done and thanks!
