One line summary Write a document on how to replace the logo image in the Milkyway template. Description The document should cover the process for the benefit of someone without prior experience of Joomla! or PHP, HTML, CSS. It should suggest a suitable tool to use to create a new image and should show a step-by-step procedure, with annotated screenshots, of a new image being created using an open source image editor such as The Gimp. It should then show, again with annotated screenshots, the process of uploading the new image to the correct location within Joomla! The document should comply with current Joomla! Editorial Style Guidelines and guidelines for the Template Tutorials Project. Documentation written for this task must be made available under the Joomla! Electronic Documentation License. Skills Needed Using an open source image editor to create an image of a specific size. Difficulty Basic. Work Product Document as described above. Extra Credit (optional) Write additional documentation covering the same procedure for the Beez template and the winner of the template contest (to be announced). Time Limit 1 week. |

Uh, this is not very helpful, there is already a Joomla thread that coveres this without the tedium of how to create an image. The key idea is REPLACING the image, not creating an image. The typical application does NOT have images in the required weight and height sizes. How do you change the template to accomadate that? A simple change to Milkyway doesnt do it, as the top menu will overwrite a large logo image. |
