I would also like to claim this issue to work on. I will use a on-screen video
recorder and add text or voice overs. It will be simple yet effective and those who
are confused will get it by watching my video.

Project manager can specify Windows XP theme to use, the colour etc and which
browser to use, to keep the generic look of all videos.

You can only have one task at a time. Pick one as your first task, and then if the
other is still open when you have finished you can grab it.

i would like to claim this issue. I already have the Camtasia Studio video recorder
for Windows. I am able to use either Windows XP or Windows Vista as the OS, and IE7
or FF2 as the web browser. Voice will be recorded over the video along with text labels

Notice to GHOP Contestants:

1. Register on the Joomla Forums ( http://forum.joomla.org/index.php?action=register
) if you do not have an ID, already.

2. Create a new forum thread in the Google's Highly Open Participation Contest Board
( http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/board,487.0.html ) using the # and name of your
claimed task (ex. 11 - Create a module listing a random set of articles excluding
frontpage articles).

3. Introduce yourself and share the description of your task. If you want specific
help, indicate what would be helpful.

4. Your task mentor (and likely other members of the community) will introduce
themselves to you and provide you with guidance needed to complete the task assigned.

5. This is a necessary part of completing your task. Communication is a key aspect of
an open source community and the forums are the focal point of that communication in
Joomla!.

We are eager to meet you and help you be successful with your task. Good luck to each
of you in the contest.

hold on. I'm still finalizing the complete video this week. The task says a time
frame of one month, so i still have until december 28 to turn in the final version...

im sorry for not checking the forums. i just realized those posts in the topic, which
for some reason i was never notified of via e-mail. anyways video will be complete in
swf format by friday. basically just need to input a few more voice overs and some
text overlays.

Actually, you have not responded November 29, 2007.

Point #7 in our guidelines http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,239201.0.html
posted to your thread on December 2, 2007 read:

7. Members of the community will introduce themselves and provide you with guidance
needed to complete the task assigned. The forum interaction is a necessary part of
completing your task. Communication is a key aspect of an open source community and
the forums are the focal point of that communication in Joomla!. Consider this
feedback when working on your task. Ask for clarification, if needed.

I reminded you of the need for involving others on Dec 2.

On Dec 11, 12, 14 and 18 you were asked to report progress, without any response from
you.

On the 18th, I warned you, absent your response, the task would be reopened. It is
now 30 minutes from Dec 23 and we have yet to hear one update from you - and you have
had the task since November 28.

Why didn't you interact with the community, as instructed? Why didn't you respond,
when it was requested of you?
Comment 18 by slogen123, Dec 22, 2007
i didnt respond to the progress requests because i never received any post
notifications of them. i checked my spam box a few minutes ago and they were sitting
in there. I have been bombarded with some other projects over the past weeks. School
ended for the holidays yesturday, so now I am able to finish this task.
Comment 19 by amystephen, Dec 22, 2007
Task reopened for slogen123 with original time span.

Thanks for your response and we look forward to reviewing your work.

Amy :)

The final version of the video can be found at
http://www.veoh.com/videos/v1817093XPqc2QSe. After messing around with Google Video,
i decided to do a little research for high-quality video service providers, and found
Veoh. Check it out, and i hope you enjoy ;-)
