I would like to claim this issue to resolve. I have been using Joomla for 2 years
and have successfully created compatible templates for v1.0 and will soon migrate
them to v1.5 I will provide a nice design which would be simple and effective. Best
of all easy to understand.

To clarify, is this for a web document or a PDF document? If it is a web document,
am I able to use the Joomla website theme as a base for designing the web document
layout/design? Or is this in PDF format ready for print?
Comment 9 by chris.da...@joomla.org, Nov 28, 2007
I think the intention is that you create the document in OpenOffice and from there it
can be exported as a PDF. Please also note that it should refer to Joomla! 1.5, just
in case it isn't clear.

Notice to GHOP Contestants:

1. Register on the Joomla Forums ( http://forum.joomla.org/index.php?action=register
) if you do not have an ID, already.

2. Create a new forum thread in the Google's Highly Open Participation Contest Board
( http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/board,487.0.html ) using the # and name of your
claimed task (ex. 11 - Create a module listing a random set of articles excluding
frontpage articles).

3. Introduce yourself and share the description of your task. If you want specific
help, indicate what would be helpful.

4. Your task mentor (and likely other members of the community) will introduce
themselves to you and provide you with guidance needed to complete the task assigned.

5. This is a necessary part of completing your task. Communication is a key aspect of
an open source community and the forums are the focal point of that communication in
Joomla!.

We are eager to meet you and help you be successful with your task. Good luck to each
of you in the contest.

jiandu1991 - we need you to follow the process identified in Comment 11 and post in
the Joomla! forums. If we have not heard from you in the next couple of days, we will
assume you are no longer interested and likely open the task back up for others. Thanks!
Comment 14 by amystephen, Dec 13, 2007
jiandu1991 - You have 24 hours to respond to Comment 11 or we will have to open this
task.

Before you even accept this, have you tried contacting jiandu1991 directly? I worry
that if he hasn't turned on notifications for this topic and is already half way
done, and just doesn't know about it, taking this task would be rude...

Kevin -

I hear you. This is one of the most difficult parts of the contest for me. I have had
to cancel over two dozen tasks. In the guidelines, we state the importance of
community interaction. That is why we require posting in the forums, as you have done
for each of your tasks.

Contestants who do not post into the forums are notified the only way we are able -
by response to their contest thread. Unfortunately, we do not have email addresses to
reach them in that way. If I did, trust me, I would use it. You can't imagine how
hard it is for me to cancel a task. I volunteer *because* I want to encourage people.

This task was claimed November 28. We heard nothing from the contestant after
repeated attempts to reach them. Two weeks and two days later, we opened the task for
someone else. To be fair to all contestants and to provide the community with the
best results and to support Google in their contest, we have to draw the line.

You are very kind to ask.

Amy :)
