Deferring it to a future release. Meanwhile, you can use a custom 
serializer/deserializer to achieve what you 
want.

Due to popular demand, we are squeezing this into the 1.4 beta release.  We 
will be
getting some feedback on this feature during the beta and "may" make a backwards
incompatible change to this exclusion mechanism.  Try it out and let us know.

Since this is now doable as of r485, marking this bug as fixed.
