Improving the management of the Go Bible UI translations
Phase-Implementation, Featured
Updated Apr 13, 2011 by DFH...@gmail.com

Introduction

The User Interface (UI) for Go Bible consists of 73 short phrases listed in the Go Bible UI Translation page on the CrossWire Developers' wiki.

Currently the UserInterfaceTranslations are managed in a piece-meal manner or not at all.

One member even started a Google Docs Spreadsheet, but this has not been updated since July 2007.

Ini Translator?

Ini Translator is a utility program to translate ini-style language files and has a look and feel reminiscent of poEdit (a great language editor for gnu gettext files). Ini-style language files are pretty common in Windows and are used by programs like Inno Setup, ISTool, FlashGet and Wallpaper Sequencer to name a few. The program runs on Windows 98/Me/XP/2000.

I wonder if this could be easily adapted to manage the Go Bible UI translations?

There is already a Malayalam Go Bible available from http://www.christiansmobile.com/Default.aspx?tabid=78

The same site also has a Tamil Go Bible and a Hindi Go Bible. We are in touch with the brother in Tamilnadu who runs this site.

Please use the Go Bible forums to ask questions like this. http://jolon.org/vanillaforum/

No-one is monitoring the comments here on a regular basis. The comments left in these code pages are more for helping to improve the content of the page.
