The notification is more than a simple message. It is complicated and unnecessary and might fade before it is really understood. Unnecessary because it makes sense that adding the applet to the panel should enable globalmenu without me having to do it myself. I notice it takes a while to enable, if that is a concern, perhaps a throbber could be shown in the applet? Otherwise, I suggest showing the preferences window or a dialog instead of a notification. What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. When first adding globalmenu to the panel To see the notification for yourself: right-click > preferences and uncheck 'Enable Global Menu for GTK Applications' What version of the product are you using? 0.7.5 from PPA. I really appreciate this work, thank you! |

Turning GTK module on in the default gconf schemas will solve the problem.
