What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Opened the app once
2. Can't close it as it's nowhere visible
3. Can't trash it because it says it's open

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I don't see the gas mask app window anywhere. It' also not open in the app dock.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 0.6
Mac 10.8.2

Please provide any additional information below.
It makes me nervous having this app running without being able to quit it or seeing it's app window to enter anything.
Thanks for looking into this!

Same issue for me, some more details :
I modified host file with http://someonewhocares.org/hosts/ data and TextWrangler (*)
The host file is now 10191 lines. This could be the origin of the problem

Gas Mask version 0.6
IOS 10.8.4

As no window is visible, I killed the app session with Activity Monitor (works also in Terminal with Kill command)

Workaround :
May be a litle be more... technical for some readers :

1.- Open Finder
2.- Press Shift + Cmd + G
3.- Type /etc
4.- Enter
5.- Right click hosts
6.- Open with > TextWrangler (*)
Sources :

and
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4505509?start=0&tstart=0
to display hidden files like host file

* DO NOT install Apple's version of TextWrangler because it returns the following error code :
The authenticated save for this file failed (application error code: 20004)
It turns out that the Mac App Store (MAS) version of TextWrangler cannot handle authenticated saves due to Apple’s app store submission guidelines. BBEdit, TextWrangler’s big brother, has a script to reinstate the functionality as explained here. Unfortunately, the solution is not that elegant for TextWrangler. The solution? Abandon the MAS version of TextWrangler, and download TextWrangler from the Bare Bones website.
