Feature: Add options for GDirections to avoid highways and shortest/fastest route Comments: Like on maps.google.com the option to avoid highways should be added to the API too. Also the choice to calculate the fastest route instead of the shortest route would be nice. Requested by: GoogleJaps |

My site needs to calculate back-roads routes for tourists and vacationers, so highway routes are of no use to us. Google, please implement this soon. Thank you. |

avoidHighways was released. If the "fastest route" is still of interest to people here, please file a separate request.
