Gloss is intended to be a drop-in replacement for the existing MythTV frontend. It is written in Python however uses the Clutter OpenGL framework with the intent of producing a visually richer interface than the existing MythTV frontend. 19/1/2009: Gloss has been on hold for a little while due to other commitments in my life and some serious breakage that occurred in the move to the Clutter 0.8.x API. Currently Gloss is now back up and running on the latest stable Clutter (Hopefully on unstable soon too) however not everything is working correctly. I will hopefully be able to dedicate more time to this over the next few months to make some good progress. See the following Wiki page for setup instructions: http://code.google.com/p/gloss-mc/wiki/Setup_instructions If you're having troubles either getting Gloss running, or with things working once it is, try looking in the FAQ: http://code.google.com/p/gloss-mc/wiki/FAQs If you find a problem not in the above FAQ, feel free to leave a bug ticket at http://code.google.com/p/gloss-mc/issues/list BlogYou can track the progress of Gloss on my private blog, which can be found at http://noisymime.org/blog , or http://noisymime.org/blog/?cat=11 for just the stuff on Gloss. IRCI try to hang out on #gloss on irc.freenode.org if you want to chat. VideosThere have so far been six official screencasts of Gloss showing the general 'flow' and user interface. These are listed below:
