Getting Started with the Get Satisfaction APIs

Go to your dashboard on Get Satisfaction, go to the Account Settings tab, and click on "Extensions" on the left. On the Extensions page, click "Register your application to gain access to our API."

After you have read the Terms of Service and registered your application, go to http://code.google.com/p/getsatisfaction/ and check out the API documentation here, then browse the data at http://api.getsatisfaction.com/people, http://api.getsatisfaction.com/products, http://api.getsatisfaction.com/companies, and http://api.getsatisfaction.com//topics to see what data you can read.

Join the mailing lists, http://groups.google.com/group/getsatisfaction-code-announce to get announcements, http://groups.google.com/group/getsatisfaction-api-discuss to ask questions, and file any bugs you run across at http://code.google.com/p/getsatisfaction/issues/list.

We are eagerly looking forward to seeing what you build -- drop us a note when you have something running that we can see.

Next Steps

The following pages can help:

  • UsingTheAPI: describes in a very general what the API lookgs like
  • UsingOAuth: relevant info to use OAuth when writing to the API
  • ResourceBrainDump: a listing of various urls you can use to extract information out of the API... very useful in lieu of real documentation.
