We need a way of grouping products (categories and possibly sub
categories). How will people manage them - tagging, keywords, other? We
need to be able to query catalog for the data and build catalog maps.

Futher meta-relationships between products also needed...this may be another issue

What about using the default Plone keywords. Then you can create a topic that can
bring you back items with the keywords you want.

I think this is a separate project. Pilot Systems' faceted navigation might be a good
solution for some users...

Regardless, NCPC is very interested in this. Today, our flagship site is for
information dissemination (about various crime prevention issues). As we introduce
Ecommerce via getpaid, we will want to point our visitors (via a portlet?) to
additional--pay-for--resources (e.g., like crime prevention publications). So, we
will need a solution for this.

I'm just starting on a project (tentatively called Plone Taxonomy). I expect it will
primarily be UI enhancements to make it easier to mass-tag and manage tags on
content, but any PloneGetPaid-specific use-cases are welcome:
