We need a way of grouping products (categories and possibly sub categories). How will people manage them - tagging, keywords, other? We need to be able to query catalog for the data and build catalog maps. |

Wouldn't PloneOntology be useful for this? |

What about using the default Plone keywords. Then you can create a topic that can bring you back items with the keywords you want. |

I think this is a separate project. Pilot Systems' faceted navigation might be a good solution for some users... Regardless, NCPC is very interested in this. Today, our flagship site is for information dissemination (about various crime prevention issues). As we introduce Ecommerce via getpaid, we will want to point our visitors (via a portlet?) to additional--pay-for--resources (e.g., like crime prevention publications). So, we will need a solution for this. I'm just starting on a project (tentatively called Plone Taxonomy). I expect it will primarily be UI enhancements to make it easier to mass-tag and manage tags on content, but any PloneGetPaid-specific use-cases are welcome: http://www.openplans.org/projects/plone-taxonomy/ |
