This project installs menu items into the Adobe Lightroom interface that allows photos to be tagged with geographic information through the Lightroom interface.

Locations are read from the standard GPX file format and exif information is stored in the image files using Phil Harvey's exiftool.

Installation:

Copy the entire geotag.lrdevplugin directory to the following location: (XP) C:\Documents and Users\username\Application Data\Adobe\Lightroom\Modules (Vista) C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Modules (Mac) /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules

For Windows users, the exiftool executeable is included with the plugin.

For Mac users, you must also install the Mac exiftool package -> http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/

Instructions

Two new items are added to the File menu:

Select the photos you want to tag in the main Lightroom interface then choose this menu item. A dialog is presented that allows you to choose the GPX file for location information and the destination settings.
  • Sync Photo to GPS
This item allows you to match the timestamp of your GPS unit with the timestamp recorded by your camera. First select a picture of you GPS showing the time in the main Lightroom interface.
