this project is a simple extension to the well-supported and tested OpenLayers project. Where OpenLayers is centered on the display of Geographic data in (google-maps like) slippy maps, this project provides the functionality to view Genomic data. Genomic images are requested from a serverside script that generates an image of genomic features for the requested width, height, and base-pair range. The image-generation program can be any program that accepts a url with &xmin=####&xmax=####&other=parameters& format.
