As videos can now be geotagged, it will be cool to have south (latitude), north (latitude), east (longitude), west (longitude) parameters to define a geographic bounding box. When used only the videos within the bounding box will be outputted. Adding this feature in addition with lat/lon tags in the output will allow great mashups with google maps |

I also wouldn't mind having the ability to search all geotagged videos. I suppose I could specify a really large bounding box to get most of what I want, but it would be nice to simply search ALL geotagged videos. |

A geo-restrict parameter has been filed as a separate issue: http://code.google.com/p/gdata-issues/issues/detail?id=410

Yeah, it'd be nice to have a geo-restricted and geo-bounded filters. |

Like Wikipedia database, we need a table who containt in minimum the url of video, and it's latitude and longitude. After, it's possible to make sql spatial search on the table. Look my participation at this thread in geonames.org forum, download the mysql wikipedia database and see the readme file: http://forum.geonames.org/gforum/posts/list/905.page Pierre Here examples of geo-location search: http://www.map2explore.com |

Hello Jeff, Recently, I had a response from Panoramio forum about the same feature I want to have with videos and Panoramio team build a API for show the nearest photos where you are in Google Maps. I integrated this API in www.map2explore.com My question : Do you have a API like this for Youtube? http://www.panoramio.com/api The forum thread: http://www.panoramio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=100256#100256 Thanks. A mashup like this would be easy to build once the API allows you to search based on a bounding box or a radius from a lat/long position. |

Yes, panoramio and geonames.org (among others) have APIs that allow to query data located within a bounding box. Will youtube have this feature soon ? -- Joaquin http://twinverse.com/ |

And now, what's matter? |

Nothing is the matter. :) There are some boring, technical reasons that are preventing geo-search right now, but this is being worked on. |
