please? pretty please? I mean seriously... this would be amazing. I would actually
use Google docs if this where implemented. I don't always have access to the internet
with my laptop and i don't always have access to the my laptop. With this and
http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/ooo2gd i could always have my class
notes and the like at my finger tips.

Yes, please. For now Zoho allows this with both writer/sheet/database.

+1, this is the most needed feature for Google Docs if it does not want to be left
behind. Zoho already has it. That is an enormous plus for an online editor. Where
there are providers *with* this feature, those *without* it will be abandoned.

Without this feature, the extension is more of a novelty than a truly usable
feature. Who cares if you can upload a document to Google Docs if you can't continue
to work with that same document?

We use both MS Word and OpenOffice. Not being able to update our docs between the
local and Google Docs versions is taking up time and energy. Please do consider
adding this capability to Google Docs. But, security is most important, of course.

It seems that since yesterday Google is gradually rolling out an offline version of
GDocs through Google Gears. There is also a sync function within it...so it will only
be a matter of time for the API to come!?

I see someone from Google changed this report status to "821466". However, it is not
clear to me what it means.

If Google has a position with regards to this they need to be open and say something,
rather than work behind the scenes without saying a word. P-L-E-A-S-E.

Please stop saying "+1", starring an issue means voting for it, so it's an automatic
"+1". Starring an issue really means saying "I want this, this would be great!".

The difference between both is that the number of stars an issue has is automatically
counted, unlike those "+1" comments. This will have more effect on the developers
working on this.

Also, those who star an issue don't get an email every time someone starred it, but
we do get annoying emails every time someone says "+1".

True... People who use Google Docs seriously would need this support. This would mean
kind of like a sync facility or thereof. But when the filenames are same, it would be
great if the old file just got modified with the one which we are uploading to GDocs.
