Inventory for Composable Elements (ICE) is being developed by the Joint Bio Energy Institute (JBEI) as an open source Registry software for biological parts. It is a web application software that can be used by laboratories to track and search their constructs. It can be run as a stand-alone server software, or can be used as an application programming interface (API) to build other software tools to manipulate biological parts.

You can try out the software and use our tools on our Public Registry (http://public-registry.jbei.org).

If you are interested in installing the software, checkout the Manual.

We are working to improve our user and developer documentation over the next few months.

You can start browsing the wiki from the StartHere page.

Our SOAP API

There is also the companion VectorEditor project which works with ICE to display and edit sequences. Our sequence checker software is quite popular.
