    issue 78 (No GPS or no GPS fix) commented on by ramon.po...@gmail.com   -   Hello Klaus, * Yes I use other GPS applications successfully, ie TOMTOM6. In this application the port that goes is labeled has GPS PORT and if I select COM4 (which is the applications port in windows config) it doesn't detect the GPS. Other SW I use is TwoNav, this software has a more complex GPS config options but basically the port used is labeled has 'COM7: GPS Port' NMEA protocol and 4800bps.... Jo Jo Jo! writing these lines I hav just try the COM7 port and ¡it rules! There were no entries in the log file you mention. I'll go out of the building right now in order to see if it can get a GPS fix. Thanks Klaus for rapid answer and clever indications.

    issue 78 (No GPS or no GPS fix) Owner changed by kmb...@gmx.de   -   Did you have any other SW which uses GPS successfully? Which com port does this application use? Usually the hardware port is com1. If you use windows setting to split the com data (automatically manage GPS port) for use with more than one application, it will be usually com4. But this does not work on my device (Asus P320, WM6.1). I use a third party com splitter "VirtComNG.dll VirtComMgr.exe in VirtCom.zip". But try first the hardware port (com1 or com0). Sometimes it helps to hard reset the device. 'log raw nmea' only works with 'read GPS data directly'. If there are errors, a file GpsCycleComputer.log is created in the application directory - are there any entries? Klaus

    issue 78 (No GPS or no GPS fix) reported by ramon.po...@gmail.com   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Watch Config->System->Internal GPS->SW Port (COM4) ->HW Port (COM3-4800bps) 2. Start Gcc and config 'Read GPS data directly: COM4, Baud rate:4800 3. Start tracking or set on the GPS What is the expected output? What do you see instead? After a while is supposed that any GPS daat will be received but nothing happens. The 'Info tap' shows a 'no data from GPS' message and the 'GPS tap' shows a red square and a 'no gps data' message. If I config the GPS port to COM3 same applies. If I config Gcc not to 'Read GPS data directly' the 'Info tap' shows now a 'GPS:On d0 tllahs xxx' message where xxx is an incremental number growing avery second. The 'GPS tap' shows a red square and 'S-/- Snr- T- Dh-'. Nothing changes but every xxx is 18x the red squares change to grey and again to red and the 'Info tap' shows 'gps opening...' (I thought) during an instant. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? I'm using gcc 4.8 over Windows Mobile 5.0 in a ACER C531 ppc. Please provide any additional information below. 'log raw NMEA' don't produce the tmp.txt file in the root directory so I can't see if gcc is receiving any gps data.

    issue 77 (singel updater) commented on by kil...@gmail.com   -   Hey Klaus t'hanks for implement the option. When i have the new source code i look for optimization and for "[1]" at the file name. I don't now where that come from but i look in to it. i think but i'am not sure the cab file already exists on your gsm , and the one you wil download automatic rename itself with "[1]" and not overwrite the old one explorer related not fault in the source , but like i say i'am not sure off this i wil test it. Then i also see how you put the new version to it at the source code. kilblg

    issue 77 (singel updater) commented on by kmb...@gmx.de   -   Hi kilblg, a new beta release is available with update function in about screen: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17415507&postcount=1560 The button will "update" to last official version 4.8. If you test it you should abort the install process or you effectively downgrade. BTW: On my tests it inserted a "[1]" in the cab file name, but it worked. Klaus

    issue 76 (Flicker effect of Menu (solved by me)) commented on by dok...@hotmail.it   -   hi! i'm happy that this program is actually in developed mode and i'm happy that i help to little improve it =) In my screen -15 works but i don't know if there is a difference with other screen! For map redraw i thinked that in less powered phone it slow the map scrolling (then is good implement option for this feature, disabled for default). For the GPS on\off i will change the name of files, this isn't a problem :D in the next release (that will be released in date?) all of this bug fix and feature will be in? thanks for the attention =) bye

    issue 76 (Flicker effect of Menu (solved by me)) changed by kmb...@gmx.de   -   Hi dokkis, I have introduced your improvements regarding flicker (thank you) and some further small improvements. Also I payed attention that it works on other screens (your change -15 instead of -9). For map redraw while moving: I think I make an option or I leave it. On my device, which is not so powerful, it is a bit awful. Regarding GPS of or on, I thought about thoroughly when designing it. And I decided to look at it as a current status indicator rather than what the button will do if pressed. Thousands of users are using it that way and I can not change it and I don't want to. If you like it the other way, you can change the button images without modifying the code (and loosing it on update). See readme.htm chapter 12. Custom button skins. Klaus

    issue 76 (Flicker effect of Menu (solved by me)) commented on by dok...@hotmail.it   -   in the same way i've modify picturebutton and pictureselectionbutton and the flicker effect seems doesn't appear never. Therefore i wanted the map redrawing when moving (the redraw happens only when i release the finger) then i've modify the form1 removing MouseMoving variable and all related references and the map now refresh when moving =) and i've inverted button on and off of gps in main view because (imho) when gps is off the button should be appear on to indicate that if i pressed the button i turn gps on ^^

    issue 76 (Flicker effect of Menu (solved by me)) reported by dok...@hotmail.it   -   hello sorry for my english but i'm italian. I solved a bug related to the annoying flicker effect of the menu when scrolling. To solve the problem must override in the MenuPage.cs this method protected override void OnPaintBackground(PaintEventArgs e) { } and change OnPaint method in this way (first draw all components in a bitmap image and only last draw into e.Graphics ;) ) protected override void OnPaint(PaintEventArgs e) { bWidth = this.Width / 3; bHeigh = bWidth / 2; GridHeigh = bHeigh * 3 / 2; if (Form1.gps.OpenedOrSuspended) mBAr[(int)BFkt.gps_toggle] = mBGpsOn; else mBAr[(int)BFkt.gps_toggle] = mBGpsOff; SolidBrush br = new SolidBrush(this.ForeColor); Bitmap temp = new Bitmap(this.Width, this.Height); Graphics graphics = Graphics.FromImage(temp); graphics.Clear(this.BackColor); for (int i = so; i <= (int)BFkt.endOfMenuPage; i++) { int ix = (i - so) % 3; int iy = (i - so) / 3; if ((2 * iy + 1) * GridHeigh > 2 * Size.Height) //show minimum half break; // not enough room for a complete button Rectangle dest_rect = new Rectangle(bWidth * ix, GridHeigh * iy + mouseDrag, bWidth, bHeigh); Bitmap bm = (i == i_p) ? mBAr[i].icon_p : mBAr[i].icon; graphics.DrawImage(bm, dest_rect, new Rectangle(0, 0, mBAr[i].icon.Width, mBAr[i].icon.Height), GraphicsUnit.Pixel); SizeF Tsize = e.Graphics.MeasureString(mBAr[i].text, this.Font); graphics.DrawString(mBAr[i].text, this.Font, br, bWidth * ix + (bWidth - Tsize.Width) / 2, GridHeigh * iy + bHeigh + mouseDrag); lastDisplayed = i; } e.Graphics.Clear(this.BackColor); if (!Form1.isLandscape) { Rectangle cliprec = e.ClipRectangle; cliprec.Height = cliprec.Height * 31 / 32; //create a black separator between mPage buttons and standard buttons on bottom e.Graphics.Clip = new System.Drawing.Region(cliprec); } e.Graphics.DrawImage(temp,0,0); temp.Dispose(); base.OnPaint(e); } And i advice to use public bool DownPossible { get { return so <= (int)BFkt.endOfMenuPage - 15; } } to don't scroll menu over the necessary (all tested on my Htc Touch HD, WM6.5) I hope you change this code in next version of this fantastic program =) if you want a nickname to thanks in the changelog version to the person that solved bug my nickname is 'dokkis', if you don't mention my nickname isn't a problem! when i've a bit of time i try to solve the other flicker problem =) goodbye to all =)

    issue 75 (Too many maps make gcc go default ) changed by kmb...@gmx.de   -   GCC can handle a maximum of 512 maps. There should pop up a message "Cannot load more than 512 maps". Maybe you can organize your maps in subdirectories with max 512 map files each. My recommendation: Consider to use OSM-style maps. These are map tiles with 256x256 pixel organized in a special directory structure with different zoom levels. Here the size is only limited by the capacity of your storage card. I recommend using "MOBAC" to download the map tiles. There are many map sources (including google maps). If you want use your own maps, maybe you can find a tool to convert your maps into OSM-style. 3. IMHO it is no problem to operate the map screen without holding the finger at one place for such long time that the context menu pops up accidently. Klaus

    issue 75 (Too many maps make gcc go default ) reported by dong...@gmail.com   -   What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. I put 576 maps(576 jpgs + 576 txts) in maps folder, and it makes gcc to go default setting. 2. And i put additional 16 maps, additionls does not show in gcc map screen. if I delete some files in above 576 maps, additionls shows well. 3. I hate context menu in maps, want some options to disable it. Thanks for FANTASTIC gps program for cycling. I hope somebody port gcc for ANDROID. thanks. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Please provide any additional information below.

    issue 74 (Force download a tile(s)) commented on by radoslaw...@gmail.com   -   Yes, I already use it, but it updates ALL tiles or downloads particular boundings what must be set manualy. Updating all tiles takes too much time (3 hours at least) and adding bounding rect manually is not so handy :/ But in mentioned proposal I could download my neighborhood (where I walk very often and digitalizing it) in just 1 click, without updating all tiles from different part of the country/continent/world.

    issue 74 (Force download a tile(s)) commented on by radoslaw...@gmail.com   -   I have installed 4.9beta and it works great :) Excelent work! I was waiting for this option for months :) From my point of view, when I mainly use fast Wi-Fi connection (I don't pay the GSM operator for reloading tiles), it would be absolutely excelent option to force download tiles in view for ALL zoom levels. Of course this must be limited to some zoom level e.g. downloading tiles for all zoom levels is possible only when actual zoom level is e.g. 14-18 - becasue on these levels, interesting details on the map are visible yet. So if I can explain how it could work: E.g. My actual zoom level is 15, I click "reload map tiles for all zoom levels" and all visible tiles for zooms from 1-18 (or it could be optimized that e.g. 10-18) are downloaded). WhenI am on zoom level 13, then only 10-13 are downloaded. Or maybe it could work in other way that it could reload tiles from zoom levels +2 and -2 from actual zoom level. So when I am on level 12, then 10-14 are reloaded. and when I am on 17 then 15-18 are realoaded.

So when I am on level 12, then 10-14 are reloaded. and when I am on 17 then 15-18 are realoaded.

    issue 73 (<trkseg> tag during Pause) Status changed by kmb...@gmx.de   -   With current data structure this is not so easy. But I can begin a new trkseg if the logging is paused for a certain amount of time (e.g. 10s). With this solution a new segment will also be created when the logging is interrupted for 10s due to failing GPS signal. The function must be enabled in Kml/Gpx options. Klaus

    issue 74 (Force download a tile(s)) reported by radoslaw...@gmail.com   -   Long press on the map, beside the actual options (reset map position and show/hide map), there should be option to force reloading visible map tiles. This would be very helpful when user (like me) using GPS Cycle Computer for OSM digitizing. Then I can easily see my changes later. Now I have to update tiles by dates (what doesn't work sometimes and is time consuming).

    issue 73 (<trkseg> tag during Pause) reported by radoslaw...@gmail.com   -   Pressing pause during logging should later in converting to GPX file add a track segment by adding corresponding <trkseg> and </trkseg> tags. Or maybe some dialog asking what to do.

    issue 71 (region map download) commented on by kmb...@gmx.de   -   Hi Pascal, there is a little tool "PDA TileManager" which runs on your device and can do this. But I recommend "Mobile Atlas Creator" running on your desktop computer to download all the tiles of your interest (from various sources) and copy them to your device. See Help file "Readme.htm" section 10.4 for more details. Klaus
