# Prerequisites:

  • install Java SDK 1.6+
  • install apache maven
  • install svn client

http://code.google.com/p/gbif-providertoolkit/source/browse/#svn/trunk/motherpom

# Get the code

- create a project folder

- in a terminal:

# build the projects

  • cd motherpom/
  • mvn install
  • cd gbif-providertool/

# the following will take a LONG time the first execution (grab a coffee / lunch)

  • mvn install -Dmaven.test.skip=true

# HINT: if you know you have all the libraries on the machine (e.g. after the first build), use the following:

  • mvn install -o -npu

# this will start a Jetty Server running the application

  • mvn jetty:run-war -Dmaven.test.skip=true

# set up eclipse

  • mvn eclipse:eclipse

# some environments have issues with the above

  • mvn org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-eclipse-plugin:2.6:eclipse

# open eclipse and do an "import existing project into the workspace"

# select the project folder as the root and it should show the gbif-providertool
