Ben, in this new release the "pops & clicks" bugs with sounds at 44.1khz persists. It's affect to RandomBGM and spanish adventure "ALIEN". And I suppose that any other game sounds occupying 44.1. Is it absolutely necessary to do the resampling? I ask because the sound quality in any "samplerate" is resulting deteriorating significantly to make this "resampling".

Everything else works wonderfully!

Greetings! Eliuk.

Will there be a app of Gargoyle? I mean, for the iPod Touch, iPhone... You know. If you can, can you make one?

Comment by project member bcressey@gmail.com, Mar 25, 2011

The project is GPL licensed, so in order to be completely above board, all the developers would need to agree to dual license the code before an iOS port could be released. I don't think it's out of the question, but I also haven't asked the others.

There are also various App Store restrictions on how new games can be obtained. Frotz for iPhone has some possible solutions for this.

I'd like to do it at some point; just not quite sure when it will happen.

First of all, thank you for all your terrific work on the Gargoyle project!

I have just one question...I seem to be having trouble with the config file. I have followed the instructions in the file for the filename and location, but despite trying various options, the changes I make do not seem to make any difference. What am I missing?

Thank you.

Hi Simon - what OS are you running?

Comment by simonmar...@gmail.com, Sep 24, 2011

Hello there

Sorry I didn't see your reply. I am using Kubuntu 11.04.

Thank you

The best place for your config file would be in your $HOME directory, named either .garglkrc or garglk.ini.

Files with that name in the same directory as the game you're playing can override those settings, however, so if you're not seeing anything change you might check there.

You might also check in $XDG_CONFIG_HOME (which IIRC defaults to ~/.config) since Gargoyle will also look there for config files with the same names as above. Files here will trump everything on the system except the ones in the game's own directory.

Thank you for your help, it worked! I moved the file to my home directory and deleted some duplicates, finally solving the problem.

Thanks again.

Simon
