It would be nice to be able to view resources board with a color for each type
of role.

It would allow to see, in the resources board, how many resources of every type
are used every day.
Indeed some type of resources use special machines or particular conditions and
colors would allow to anticipate the fact that there are too many resources of
the same type at the same moment.

Thx for your great job !

To add to this request, if a color has been assigned to a task and a resource
has been assigned to the task, it would be nice to see the same color for the
resource, when looking at the resource chart.

Do you really mean "the same color for the resource" or "the same color for
that task bar under resource" ? In the former case, I am not sure that it is a
good idea because resource colors show resource load, and using them for
something else will be confusing.

I am knew to this product, but would like to readdress this. It would be nice
if there was an option that allowed the default resource color for a task would
default to the task's color. If there was a Resource Overload, Underload, or
Days off, that would override the default color. It would be up to the user to
manage those colors as necessary for my project.

#4: I believe that what you want is addressed in different issue #756
This issue addresses coloring resources with colors defined for their roles.
