When zooming is performed the date under the pointer should be kept the
same, instead keeping the left-most date the same. This makes zooming more
efficient.

When zooming with mouse wheel, you mean?

I'm not sure that it would be a really good (default) behavior. E.g., now when
you zoom in, you're sure that the view will keep the leftmost date, no matter
where is the pointer. In your case, you'll have to point it precisely at the
left border to just change weeks to days, keeping the same tasks as before
zooming.

I think that either a modifier key or just some other way of zooming (e.g.
selecting an area + mouse wheel) is a better way of triggering such behavior.

Normally, I have the tasks of interest in the middle of my view, when zooming
they get lost.
Other programs (ie Visio, Adobe Reader, CorelDraw, SolidWorks, ...) also have
this behavior (keeping point under mouse equal/stable), so I guess I got used
to their behavior and expected this always to work like this...

Good idea. I still can not get used to zooming in GanttProject from the same
reason - my main point of interest is in the middle of view.

Hi,
great project but zooming is very "strange". As says by other people standard zoom are always mouse center.

I understand your point of view :

But is it possible to add a ctrl or alt + wheel mouse to zoom with constant date under the mouse pointer ?

Thanks
