I tired 2 tools: Openproj and gantter.com. Both tools can open MS Project
MPP file without any problem, but can not open the xml generated by
Ganttproject.
It will be great if you can allow other PM tools read from Ganttproject.

BTW: Ganttproject could not open xml file generated by Openproj, either.

1. Can MS Project open that file?
2. Can you share the file?

files have been sent to ganttproject@googlecode.com

Here is the original .gan file and the files got from Ganttproject.
I don't have MS project so did test.
The Openproj I got is ver. 1.4.

Why did you send them to ganttproject@googlecode.com? I don't think that such
email
exists. Our contact email is written on http://ganttproject.biz/about

Exporting to MS Project MPP with 2.0.10, then importing that file with the
latest
Gnome Planner does not work properly. Planner just gets the top-level task. I
suppose this could be a Planner issue. I see that the .xml file has
descriptions of
all tasks in the GanntProject.

I can confirm that I am also having trouble importing GanttProject xml files
into OpenProj. This is tested on GanttProject 2.0.10 in Linux and 2.0.9 on
Windows. OpenProj version 1.4.

To create xml file:
1) Open GanttProject
2) Open project
3) Project -> Export
4) Select "Microsoft Project file"
5) Change file format to MSPDI (MS Project XML Format)
6) Click "Next"
7) Accept default save location. Click "Ok"

Then to import into OpenProj:
1) Open OpenProj
2) File -> Open
3) Select xml file created previously, click "Open"
Result: OpenProj processes xml file, but doesn't display anything once
processed (as if a project hasn't been opened).

Possible cause: incorrect attributes/'things' in xml file.

OpenProj can import MS Project generated files no problem, so I think it's a
GanttProject export issue rather than an OpenProj import issue.

It's Same for me too. Export MS Project XML does not contain appropriate data.
Any update about this?

@comment #8: this file opens and shows 52 tasks in visually the same order and
hierarchy in GanttProject itself, Microsoft Project 2010 and in ProjectLibre
1.5.2 (which is reincarnation of OpenProj)

Microsoft Project thinks that project spans a time interval from 2012-02-22 to
2013-11-29 (463 days). GanttProject is of the same opinion. ProjectLibre thinks
that project ends on 2013-02-25 (264 days) but that might be the question to
ProjectLibre, rather than to us.

I can't judge if everything is else correct, though. so, can you explain what
do you mean when you say "does not contain appropriate data"?

I have projectlibre 1.5.4 and Ganttproject 2.6.1, the exported Microsoft XML
file does not open in projectlibre. however, if i export in MPX format, it is
readable in project libre with minimal changes.
