Convert Gallery version 1.x or 2.x albums to SmugMug complete with category/subcategory creation and captions. G2 installations will need to have the Gallery Remote module installed and enabled. Download the application here. You will need Java 1.5 or later installed (comes pre-installed on all recent macs and on most windows machines). If you need to install Java you can get it here.

Simply double-click on the downloaded jar file to start the application. It will prompt you to enter 5 pieces of information.

• your gallery url - ie http://www.somehost.com/gallery/
• your gallery user name - this needs to be a user with read/write access to all the galleries you want to transfer (it won't write anything to gallery but write access is needed due to a quirk in the Gallery API)
• your gallery password
• your smugmug username (your email address)
• your smugmug password

Hit the convert button and the conversion process will start. A progress window will appear to show you how things are progressing. The log window will alert you to any problems - such as an image larger than SmugMug allows or a file format not accepted by SmugMug. Movies will not be transferred.
