issue 81 (Re-do WOD/FST support to be compatible with modern tools) reported by muzerakascooby   -   What version of ftpii are you using? 0.0.20 What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Install a modern version of DVDx, notice you can't choose patchmii install 2. Run FTPii with a WOD in 3. Notice the mount fails What is the expected output? What do you see instead? The mount to succeed, the mount fails Please provide any additional information below. Joedj said there was a fair chance of this being implemented on IRC in a PM to me: Jan 01 13:28:57 <joedj> yeah there's a pretty good chance that ftpii wil get better disc support by accessing it via the ppc and bypassing IOS altogether

issue 80 (New versions of DVDx cannot read original wii/gamecube discs...) Summary changed by joe.goo...@psychlaw.com.au   -   http://users.on.net/~jjordan/dvdx_iosswitch_0.1.tgz This program will modify DVDx's "title.tmd" file on the Wii's NAND filesystem so that DVDx uses IOS249. This will change the behaviour of all programs that use DVDx, not just ftpii. It attempts to modify both old DVDx installations with the title "DVDX" and new ones with the title "DISC". It does not attempt to re-fake-sign the DVDx "title.tmd" files after modifying them. Reinstalling DVDx should reverse the effects of this program. To run, this program requires an IOS installed in slot 249 that allows fake-signed ES_Identify, such as cIOS38rev14. There are several advantages to using a patched IOS with DVDx and ftpii. "cIOS38rev14" is an example of a patched IOS that provides this functionality: - DVDx can read all discs on Wiis with incompatible drive-chips - DVDx can read original Wii and GameCube discs on Wiis without drive-chips - /nand is available (/dev/flash is unavailable on newer official IOSs) - /isfs is fully available (official IOSs deny access to many files) There is also at least one disadvantage: - DVDx cannot read DVDs on Wiis without drive-chips A better solution may be implemented by accessing the optical drive via the ppc processor and bypassing IOS entirely. This should provide full access to the optical drive for everyone, without needing a patched IOS. See http://code.google.com/p/ftpii/wiki/OpticalMediaCompatibility for more information on ftpii/DVDx compatibility with various types of optical media.

issue 80 (Fails to mount any game DVD) commented on by joe.goo...@psychlaw.com.au   -   Oh, right. As per the table at http://code.google.com/p/ftpii/wiki/OpticalMediaCompatibility To read an original Wii or GameCube disk you need DVDx to be using an IOS that has the DI_LowUnencryptedRead patch, such as patchmii or cIOS. cIOS38rev14 will do nicely (that's what I'm currently using). You can either install the old DVDx in Advanced mode and choose IOS249 (probably won't work for you), or run a program to change the IOS that DVDx uses. Give me a yell on IRC ( joedj on #wiidev on EFNet ) and I can give you such a program and have a chat about it.

issue 80 (Fails to mount any game DVD) reported by szilagyic   -   What version of ftpii are you using? 0.0.20 What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Run ftpii and wait for the network to initialize successfully. 2. Insert any single layer game DVD. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I'm expecting it to successfully mount a DVD. But, instead it says "Mounting Wii Disc Image... failed". It also says that Wii Disc Filesystem and ISO9660 Filesystem failed. Please provide any additional information below. I am using a Wii, LU72 v 4.1. I have the Homebrew channel version 1.0.6, using the default DVDx installation from the HackMii installer. I am also using cIOS38rev14. I have also tried ftpii version 0.0.16 through 0.0.19, and none of them can mount the DVD.

issue 61 (no version above 0.0.15 working) Status changed by joe.goo...@psychlaw.com.au   -   Great, I have no idea why this one would work but that's good news. There's no WBFS support so that isn't surprising, although it should mount a FAT partition if there is one. Thanks for following up, I'll call this issue fixed for now. Ta, Joe

issue 61 (no version above 0.0.15 working) commented on by patrick....@googlemail.com   -   Thank you for the updated version. I just installed v0.0.20 and this version seems to work fine! It takes a moment for initialization, because it seems to fail when trying to mount my (WBFS-formatted) USB-drive, but that's fortunately no show- stopper. Cheers, Patrick
