fractal-band-iphone-app

iPhone app to promote Fractal - a rock band. Easy to re-purpose for other bands.

This app sits on top of eight web pages, in this case blogger.com is used to provide simple free content management, any band member can add information to a blog which appears in the app. Links to the iTunes Music Store are correctly handled so that this app links to the iPhone's ITMS app for listening and instant purchase of music. Links to YouTube videos play using the iPhone's YouTube player. Each web page is rendered in a WebView by the app.

The default links are Shop, Gigs, Songs, Videos, Reviews, Setlists, Secret Music (direct links to unpublished songs) and Art Work (crediting the artist who produced the cover art). It's easy to change the links and the art work.

The source code for this app is freely licensed, but the art work is not, so please make your own art work and post an app for your own band. You need to edit RootViewController.m to change URLs and the Info popup.

This app can be found in the iPhone App Store as "Fractal", the code was written by Adrian Cockcroft, the artwork for the app was produced by Grif Rosser from original album art by Derek K. Neilsen

The app works fine on iPhone OS 3.0 without any changes. I'm looking at ways to use Apple Push Notification to update the app when the RSS feeds change, any suggestions welcome.
