I love your application, however if i would like to remove the start menu of a dvd move, and move straight to the movie? It would be very good if you could add functions for removing extra material on the dvd and the menu. And for future function also make it possible to extract the subtitles from a dvd or include one in the .divx directly. I have not found any forum where support and new functions can be discussed.

I'm glad to hear that you plan on doing the ripping feature, however in my case, this has already been done. I have already ripped my movies from dvd 2 .img and I got the menu and everything, however when i try to do .divX movies of these, they loop in the menu, DivX don't have support to enter one of the choices and I can't watch the movie the files are about 9 Gb large.

As I understand you mean you want to choose specific chapters or parts from the movies to encode right ?

I will keep this comments in mind until starting build the new feature until then hope this version very helpful and stable :)

Installed Debian package http://foxoman.googlecode.com/files/divxconverter_2.0.1-1_all.deb on Ubuntu Karmic 32bit. divxc can't start as non privileged user because there are files with wrong permissions i.e.: ls -l /usr/share/divx-converter/main.glade -rw------- 1 1000 1000 124643 2010-01-12 19:44 /usr/share/divx-converter/main.glade

solved with: sudo chmod -R +r /usr/share/divx-converter/

I have been using the new stable version for some days now. And I'm very pleased it has been working very well and not one single crash. However one strange thing that came up that I would like to investigate a bit but I don't know what syntax the app used to perform the divX encoding thou Menucoder.

I got some proposals for improvements that I would like in future releases. 1.Get the current fps value when encoding instead of getting it after encoding is done. 2.Get the syntax of the choices or presets your using. 3.Drag and drop to main area to decode. 4.Add .img as a video format.

And as you said before, I would like to have DivXConverter as a program that I can put the .img directly in to instead of having k9copy to do the ripping (only keep the track in use) and remove the menu. Also if you were able to choose the subtitle you would like to have encoded it would be nice if DivXConverter would rip out the subtitle and then add it.

Well as I said before! Your app is very helpful for someone like me! And so bug free! You are a very good coder!

it can be solved with

sudo chmod 644 /usr/share/divx-converter/main.glade

(was mode 600 originally)

I have serious problem!!!

When clicking on 'Help" button, lots of help windows starts opening at once and finally I must kill X server to stop that.

how can I leave several video files with diferent subtitle files? Because I add the video files with no problem but they all point to the same subtitle and if I change the subtitle for the correct one, all the files have that subtitle :(

I was looking long for for such a app that can easily produce files that can be played on my dvd player. All other apps failed because I don't know what ffmpeg or mencoder options are needed to create standard divx videos. Can someone explain what the output presets are good for? They make no difference in files size. Which option should I use to make it compliant with divx "Home Theatre" standard? Suggestions for the next release: implement settings for divx standard profiles as listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DivX#DivX_profiles store the last settings as a user default for the next run. make the screens smaller to fit on netbooks with a resolution of 1024x600. At the moment the screens dont fit on netbooks and not all settings can be reached.
