Python software based on VTK and wxPython with the following functionality:

  • Complete user interface for performing motion capture study, including step-by-step guidance during calibration of sensors and acquisition of motion.
  • Acquisition from multiple motion sensors. Currently extended support for Flock-of-Birds EM system, Optotrak being worked on.
  • Real-time 3D visualization of acquired motion data.
  • Plugin for the advanced Visual Data Analysis of captured motion data in order to facilitate kinematics research and patient revalidation.

This software is the result of collaborative research between the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and the Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC). The following people have contributed:

  • Serkan Arikan and Lennart Bos: Prototype version designed and implemented (TU Delft final bachelor project, 2007).
  • Mark Krijgsman and Peter Curet: FoB hardware support, further work for applying system in practice (TU Delft final bachelor project, 2009).
  • Jurriaan de Groot and Frans Steenbrink: Motion Scientists (LUMC).
  • Charl Botha: Confusing people since 1999 (TU Delft / LUMC).
  • Peter Krekel: Coordinating developer, all MotionVis functionality, currently the FoBVis master and permanently excused from having to write commit-messages (LUMC / TU Delft).
