the terminology of Flint

Content Management Interface (CMI): User interface for managing content, strictly distinct from the PMI.

custom page: a composite page in which the editor can configure the rules for displaying content in each area within the page.

generated page: a page which Flint generates dynamically according to presentation and navigation settings. Most leaf pages in the navigation hierarchy are generated to display a single content item in the presentation context. Default section homes are also generated pages.

folders: places in the CMI where content is kept; used to determine who owns the content.

home folder: the folder that a contributor automatically enters after login

section: a node in the sitemap; sections are directly mapped URLs and can contain custom pages, and other sections. A section is usually configured with a selection rule that maps content from the CMI into a substructure of generated pages

section home: the page displayed when a user navigates to a section URL. By default, a generated page displaying a batch of content items according to the selection rule, but can also be a custom page

selection rule: is a set of criteria for selecting content items that will appear within a section, either in listings in section homes or as generated pages.

site map: an editable hierarchy of sections and custom pages where editors manage the site navigation and presentation. The site map is the main UI element of the PMI. Also, in compliance with the Sitemap protocol, a generated page called sitemap.xml will be published at the root of each Flint site.

page: there are two types of pages in Flint: custom pages and generated pages.

Presentation Management Interface (PMI): User interface for managing the presentation of the site: the Site Map, the site Sections, and the Custom and Generated Pages within the Sections. It is strictly distinct from the CMI
