Good point. There should be a way to save the PDF from the right-click menu. Currently there are two ways of saving the PDF: 1. File->Save Page As menu 2. The apple-s (command-s) keyboard shortcut
Summary: No way to save PDF file from context menu

If the PDF is displayed in a frame, neither of the above suggestions work - both will only save the parent HTML document. It appears that there is no way to save a PDF that is in a frame. Great extension, by the way - PDF support is one of the main reasons I currently use Safari rather than Firefox. If the save issue is fixed, I'll probably switch back. Thanks! |

Colesbury, Thank you so much for writing this plug-in -- I've been looking for something like this for years. The Apple store employees in my hometown have gotten tired of my constant requests for a plugin like this. As for additional features, I second the request for contextual menu support for print and save functionality. Another feature that would be useful is the ability to switch the cursor mode from the "hand tool" to the "text select" tool that is available in A.Reader. Again, thank you so much for this plugin. The lack of a plugin like this for Firefox on Mac has been glaring for a long time. |

Would also use this gratefully if an 'Open in Preview' menu option were added. |

In response to comment 5: instead of Preview specifically, there should be a context menu item that opens the PDF in the default handler (i.e. if the user has defined .pdf to be opened by Acrobat or Acrobat Reader instead of Preview). But I agree that save/print context items are needed badly. I view a lot of scientific journal articles and many of them are displayed in frames, and at times I need to print them. This should be doable from within Firefox/plugin. |

I also appreciate the development of the plug-in, and add my strong "Please!" in favor of a way to save a PDF in a frame. I access PDFs on court websites that display PDFs in frames which requires me to turn off the plug-in so I can open the PDF in a way that allows it to be saved. |

I would also love a way to save the pdf from within the plug-in. That's the main item I see lacking. Thank you again for the hard work! |

Great plugin, but for me few things are missing: - The ability by a click to open it with the default viewer - The ability by a click to download it. In fact, it would be great if it could bring the power of Safari PDF viewer ! Thanks for the work done ! |

I found a work-around that allows you to save a PDF opened in a frame: (1) Click the Favicon in the address bar of Firefox and then click the "More Information" button (Or select "Page Info" from the Tools menu); (2) select the "Media" tab The pdf document should be listed in the Media tab, although it won't display in the preview area. Click the "Save As..." button and it will save that file. |

Great plugin, thanks! Unfortunately, I am unable to use it. In certain situations (such as viewing statements at my bank, Chase), the PDF is opened in a window, and there is no direct download link. Since the plugin takes over, I have no way of downloading the statement or saving it, except to disable the plugin and restarting firefox. It would be *really* nice if you could add a contextual menu item that would allow the PDF to be saved or opened with the default application. |
