Issue 4667: Enhance console filter to also cover messages inside groups

Reported by ruben.ma...@gmail.com, Jul 23, 2011
I'm quite fond of grouping log entries in the console, I use console.groupCollapsed to reduce the giant output I get.
But, if somethings appears to be wrong in my code, under circumstances I didn't think of while testing, Firebug's cockroach changes into '1 error' and I'm finding myself spending a lot of time opening collapsed groups, trying to find in what group the error was spit.

Could you automatically let the background of the collapsed-group-row change,
e.g. to red when there's an error inside of it or in a subgroup, and to yellow for a warning?

Thanks.

Instead of changing the background of the group how about making the filter a bit smarter to also keep errors etc. inside groups?

Actually that's a bug, because the search also works for messages inside groups.

Test case for this:
1. Open Firebug
2. Enable and switch to the Console panel
3. Type the following into the Command Editor and execute it

console.warn("warning");
console.group("Group 1");
console.debug("debug info");
console.group("Group 2");
console.info("info");
console.group("Group 3");
console.warn("warning");
console.group("Group 4");
console.error("error");
console.groupEnd();
console.groupEnd();
console.groupEnd();
console.groupEnd();
console.debug("debug info");

4. Click the "Errors" filter inside the Panel Toolbar
   => Just the "error" message should be shown
5. Click the "Warnings" filter inside the Panel Toolbar
   => The "warning" message of the first level and the one of "Group 3" should be shown
6. Click the "Info" filter inside the Panel Toolbar
   => The "info" message of "Group 2" should be shown
7. Click the "Debug Info" filter inside the Panel Toolbar
   => The "debug info" message of "Group 1" and the one of the first level should be shown

Sorry to post a "me too" comment, but this issue is unnerving. Finding a single error withing several dozens of groups is very tedious.
