The purpose of this page is to create a single general documentation page for all aspects of Fauna.
F.A.Q.How do I install the theme?
Can I port it to another blog system?Sure, as long as the GNU Public 2.0 license remains intact. Is it okay to remove the link credit?Yes, of course. That said, if people ask you, please tell them where you got the theme. Despite the GNU 2.0 license, Fauna is still charityware. That means people should know that, when they install it, and pass along a good deed. Why aren't the newer versions of Fauna on Wordpress.com?This is under strict control by the administrators of Wordpress.com. If you would like to see Fauna on Wordpress.com, you should kindly ask in the forums. Once Fauna reaches 1.0, I'll collaborate with the administrators of Wordpress.com to bring the theme to them, with whatever changes be necessary. When will Fauna reach 1.0 final version?Very soon. Will Fauna support 3-column layouts? In Fauna RC we're introducing a new "custom style" system, that's much improved from the previous one. It will most likely be possible to add a 3-column layout using such a custom style. The offical bundle, however, will not have 3-column support out of the box, so to speak. What plugins are supported in Fauna?
What are "Special Categories"?Special categories are categories that display posts filed in them differently than other categories. Fauna has three special categories:
Posts filed in "Noteworthy" get a heart icon. Posts filed in "Sidenotes" show up in the sidebar. Posts filed in "Asides" are smaller posts that show up among regular posts. Read more in the documentation. FeaturesAdd content to the sidebar on pages or postsFauna supports an easy way to add content to your sidebars on archived posts.
Textile and HTML is supported. Add an archive page
Add special categories, Sidenotes, Noteworthy or Asides
Posts filed in "Noteworthy" get a heart icon. Posts filed in "Sidenotes" show up in the sidebar. Posts filed in "Asides" or "Dailies" are smaller posts that show up among regular posts. Note: You can change the title of these categories, but make sure the post slug name is exactly sidenotes, asides, dailies or noteworthy. Fauna for RTL languagesRTL means Right-To-Left. Arabic style languages can benefit from using the bundled RTL stylesheet:
